How to Arrive

Driving is the easiest and best way to get to Hotel Residence Italia. The hotel sits right on the main SS33 road through Dormelletto with very simple entry from the A26/A8 motorways. Its place here makes it perfect for trips by car and for seeing the whole Lake Maggiore area. One big plus for this hotel is its own large free safe parking spot right at the site which is a must-have for all guests.

The Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) is most convenient for travelers arriving from abroad, very near indeed. It takes about 25-30 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel by road on a journey that is simple and quick. The best and most logical choice would obviously be to rent a car at Malpensa, thus having at your disposal means of traveling not only to the hotel but around this beautiful region of lakes.

It is also possible to reach the hotel via public transport with some planning. There is a train station in Dormelletto, which is on the line connecting Domodossola to Milan. From Milan Malpensa airport, you can take the Malpensa Express train to Gallarate and then change to a regional train towards Arona, getting off at Dormelletto. From the Dormelletto station, the hotel is a 15-20 minute walk or a very short taxi ride. While possible, this is less convenient than arriving by car.
