Hotel Residence Italia sits right on the main Simplon State Road (SS33) because this is a big road, not exactly downtown where you would go for a walk but more like a place people drive through. Right around there it is mostly stores and built for cars to get in. However, if someone wants something easy and considered by many to be good food then Doppio Malto brewery plus restaurant sits just ten minutes walking distance from the hotel. Their place has lots of craft beers and all kinds of top-quality pub grub making it a great night-out option with no car needed.

Several large commercial stores and a supermarket are within a 15-20 minute walking distance along the busy main road. This becomes very handy for guests who want to buy groceries, local cheeses, and wine while using their in-room kitchenettes. Except for these functional destinations, there is no park, scenic promenade, or tourist attraction that would be comfortably or pleasantly reachable on foot.

Pretty lakeside town of Arona sits about 2 kilometers away. Though technically walkable for a few, the path goes along the busy main road and is not scenic or pedestrian-friendly at all. Therefore, one can best describe the hotel's walkability as limited to some nearby conveniences. To soak up the real charm of Lake Maggiore's region, guests will want to use their wheels for all sightseeing jaunts and most meals.
